Philosophy & Approach
John Brennan has a philosophy of writing educational and progressive music for the contemporary marching & wind band medium. Mr. Brennan's philosophy promotes a 'year round' approach of technical growth and artistic development for the student musicians, not just limiting student development to the concert season. The primary characteristics of Mr. Brennan's writing is focused on the compositional craft and the aesthetic qualities of the music while maximizing the performers potential and responsibilities by mid season.

Ohio Music Educators Association Professional Development
The OMEA 2015 PDC will be held later this week in Cleveland, Ohio. OMEA is a great time to grow professionally and meet new colleagues. Due to family needs I will only be attending on Thursday February 5th. I am looking forward to seeing everyone in Cleveland!
New Mobile Page
Over the last few weeks I have spent time developing a mobile friendly version of the web page. There will probably be a few kinks to work out, however they should be minimal at this point.
OSU Spring Game & Design Meetings
The month of January has been very busy. A show concept has been set for the 2015 Ohio State Spring Game, where the athletic band will perform both Pregame and Halftime shows. Currently the staff is discussing some of the specifics for the halftime show. We have a solid concept and the production should be very entertaining!
All of my clients are currently in the midst of the design process of their fall programs. There has been a lot of communication regarding music and visual ideas. This is one of the most enjoyable times of the year for me personally. I am looking forward to writing some music in the coming weeks.
